Wanna See A Life-Sized Gundam? Of course you Do

It’s the 30th anniversary of the creation of the Gundam anime franchise, so what better way to celebrate that than to build to-scale replica of one of the series’ most iconic models, the RX 78-2 GUNDAM? No better way, that’s for sure. The 59-foot-tall replica is currently under construction and will be on display at Odaiba’s Shiokaze Park in July as part of the “Mobile Suit Gundam 30th Anniversary Project”. You’d better hurry, though, if you plan to visit as the statue will only be on display for two months. After that, well, Bandai Namco is still trying to decide on what to do with it after that. Perhaps they should give robotics researcher Takayuki Furuta a call, see if he’s still interested in going forward with his own Gundam Project.
